Billy Elliot The Musical is back for its’ 10th Anniversary Australian tour! The show will be dazzling audiences at the Sydney Lyric Theatre until December 2019, before moving on to Adelaide, Perth and Brisbane.
Based on the hit film, Billy Elliot The Musical follows the heartwarming story of a young boy finding his feet in a small British mining town during the 1984-85 miner’s strike. We follow his story from reluctant boxer to passionate dancer, as he discovers a love for ballet that inspires both his family and the local community.
The role of Billy will be shared by four extremely talented young Aussie performers, who were chosen after extensive auditions across the country. All four boys will be making their professional stage debut with this inspiring role and will be joined by several other brilliant young stars in the roles of Debbie and Michael.
You’ll also see some favourites of Aussie stage, with Kelley Abbey performing as Mrs Wilkinson – the tough but fair ballet teacher, and Justin Smith as Billy’s stoic father.
The show features amazing music by Elton John, with lyrics by Lee Hall and choreography by Peter Darling.
