Beautiful Bundanon

Arthur Boyd remains one of the country’s most celebrated painters and artists. And upon his death, aside from his prolific body of work, Arthur and wife Yvonne gifted the gift of place to the Australian people, at Bundanon. Today, Bundanon is an incredible site, featuring award-winning and environmentally sustainable architecture, including a world-class Art Museum showing the works of Arthur Boyd- spanning his prolific career- as well as a changing program of contemporary exhibitions and cultural experiences. Also onsite is a range of historic buildings, and the Ramox Cafe where diners can enjoy a range of dishes, and local wines. Many of the dishes have been inspired by the works of Arthur Boyd, like the Pissaladiere- a French-style pizza based on Boyd’s famous work ‘Peter’s Fish and Crucifixion’. The dramatic bridge, designed to withstand floods, also houses thirty-two stylish rooms, all with ensuites, which can be hired out for group functions and events.

A short drive from the main site, lives the Boyd Homestead as well as the studio where Arthur Boyd painted many of his famous works, incorporating the beautiful landscapes of the Shoalhaven. The studio remains, how Arthur left it, and also houses the very last work he painted in the studio. Bundanon is a great gift to the Australian people, from one of the country’s greatest artists.
