Sydney is constantly changing, and one place that is really happening is Liverpool. If you want to know why, just ask the mayor, Ned Mannoun.
From the construction of the Badgery’s Creek airport to the rich culture and heritage of the people of over 150 different nations who call Liverpool home, Sydney’s third biggest CBD is really beginning to shine.
And then there’s the history. The area is home to the local Darug and Tharawal people, and the city itself was one of the first settlements founded by Governor Lachlan Macquarie.
And there is so much to do. Go for a paddle on the gorgeous Georges River, check out the rich or eat your way around the globe by taking a Taste of the World tour in the city centre.
Our guide Sahar claims the felafel at Hammoud 1 restaurant was the best in Australia, and the burek and Macedonian doughnuts at Royalty Bakery are superb. Top it off with a shop at Indian supply store Udaya Spices and your day is complete.
Then head to the William Inglis Hotel at Warwick Farm for the five-star treatment. The finest rooms, swanky rooftop pool and sensational bars and restaurants will really blow you away.
If you haven’t been to Liverpool for a while, you’re due a visit – to see, do and taste.
