In our fast-paced, high- tech world, things made by hand are becoming increasingly rare. But keeping the spirit of design alive and well is the Australian Design Centre.
Located in Sydney’s Darlinghurst, the Australian Design Centre (ADC) champions home-grown, and emerging designers, artists and makers. The ADC also boasts three exhibition spaces where they hold regular, rotating exhibitions open to the public.
Currently on display at the centre is Second Look – Legacy showcasing how handmade textiles are collected, valued and loved. Each artist revisits past work or reimagines existing pieces, giving fabrics a new life through repair, reuse and reinvention.
The ADC run regular workshops relating to the many exhibitions held at the centre, where you can meet the makers behind some of the incredible pieces.
