There’s nothing better than digging into a bowl of fresh pasta at your favourite Italian café or ristorante. If only we could recreate the magic at home. Well, you’re in luck, because a much-loved, family-owned eatery in Sydney are spilling the secrets!
This week Sophie heads to Barbetta in Paddington for an amazing pasta-making masterclass! That’s right, as well as being a stylish restaurant and gourmet produce store, Barbetta offers cooking classes in its stunning, glassed-off pasta room!
Join Sophie with head chef and owner, Carmelo, as he walks through the basics of mixing, dough-kneading, rolling and creating all sorts of pasta shapes including fettuccini, spaghetti, bow-tie and even ravioli!
Of course, if you want to keep it simple you can always sit back in the visually-stunning, 1960’s-inspired dining room and let the chefs work their magic. The Southern Italian menu features breakfast, lunch and dinner favourites such as the Frittelle di Zucchuni; zucchini, ricotta and corn fritters with poached egg, smashed peas and avocado; the delectable Sardinian Seafood Fregula with ling fish, prawns, mussels and basil, and the aptly-named Best-Ever Lasagne!
