Here’s a word that sums up the Eurobodalla region on the NSW South Coast – unspoilt. Mike is checking out the area on land and on sea around Batemans Bay and beyond, enjoying the true natural beauty, dazzling food and brilliant bush accommodation.

Known as the ‘land of many waters’, Mike tries out a couple of the many watersports on offer, including stand up paddle boarding, kayaking and snorkeling. Teaming up with Shane Wehner from Total Eco Adventures, Mike paddles through the mangroves on the Tomaga River and dives into the crystal-clear waters of Barlings Island at Tomakin Beach.
Now that Mike has a taste for the place, it’s made him hungry. So, next stop is Republique, the flash new bistro in the heart of Batemans Bay. Owners Scott and Nadine have stepped up the service level, matching a menu of French classics and clever dishes with some sumptuous local and imported wine.
Then it’s on the Bower at Broulee, a collection of private luxury dwellings nestled in the bush. While most are, freestanding buildings designed to mimic a bower bird’s stand, Mike’s going ‘glampervanning’, staying in the latest addition – a super smart and super-comfy Airstream caravan.
