If you love breakfast and adore lunch, when you put them together into brunch, you’re going to want it to be something pretty special. And that’s exactly what we went in search of on Sydney’s North Shore.
First stop is Pottery Green Bakers in Turramurra, a beautifully-designed café with a menu to match, celebrating breakfast and lunch in Australia and Vietnam.
Kick brunch off with a Bright Start Board with fresh fruit and homemade granola, or a plate of baked eggs in the pan. Or brunch the Vietnamese way with a hot bowl of Pho. The Epic stack will definitely see you through to dinner, as will the filled baguettes and the roll-your-own rice paper rolls.
Over in Lindfield, Goodfields Eatery‘s all-day menu of luxe comfort food is also attracting brunchers by the score.
There’s a superb bircher muesli to start with, then why not move onto the lobster benedict or the prawn toast – crumpets spread with prawn paste and deep fried, served with the runniest poached eggs.
If you want something on the lunch side of brunch, the lamb rump salad and the beef cheek ragu with pasta are pretty hard to go past.
So, next time to want get your brunch on, you know where to go. Go north!
