Arty Liverpool

In downtown Liverpool, art is absolutely everywhere. Wander the streets and you’ll find and incredible collection of street art from small pieces hidden down alleyways, to massive murals on the side of multistorey buildings.

You can download a copy of the Liverpool Street Art map and find some of the very best pieces on show – like the side-by-side murals of Kobe Bryant and Prince on Speed St or the giant George Rose mural in the library forecourt.

Then once your appetite is up, head out to Liverpool’s undisputed cultural hub, the Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre beside the Georges River. This former coal-fired power station has been reborn to house seven exhibition spaces, a performance space, a theatre and much, much more.

Drop in to see what’s happening in the main galleries – now showingan incredible exhibition about music and community Jamming with Strangers, as well as a travelling exhibition Obsessions, shown in conjunction with the Australian Design Centre.

No visit to the Casula Powerhouse would be complete without a meal at Bellbird Restaurant, helmed by culinary artist in residence Federico.

Great food and great art, really makes a great day out.
