What’s On: Come From Away

The theatre is back! Award-winning and critically acclaimed musical Come From Away is the first big show to reopen to the fully vaccinated after the most recent Covid Outbreak. Come From Away will begin playing again at the Capitol Theatre, Haymarket on October 20.

 

The Tony and Olivier award-winning musical Come From Away tells the remarkable true story of thousands of stranded passengers and the small town in Newfoundland, Canada that welcomed them. Cultures clashed and nerves ran high, but uneasiness turned into trust music soared into the night, and gratitude grew into enduring friendships.Award-winning husband and wife duo David Hein and Irene Sankoff (book, music and lyrics), travelled to Newfoundland and interviewed thousands of locals, compiling their stories to share with the world.

 

To celebrate the reopening of the Sydney season of Come From Away, we’re chatting with actors Zoe Gertz and Doug Hansell, as well as Musical Director Michael Tyack about their exciting return to the stage.
