Drive to Survive with your Isuzu MU-X

Most of us consider ourselves ‘good’ to ‘very good’ drivers, when on the road and behind the wheel of a car. But if you want to take your driving skills to the next level, just sign up for a day course at the Ian Luff Defensive Driving Academy, out at Eastern Creek. Run by Ian Luff, who felt horrified that the Australian road accident statistics and fatalities were unnecessarily high, the academy runs a range of different courses, from Drive to Survive, through to Performance Driving skills and techniques. All courses are designed to make better, safer drivers.

Based right next door to the dragway at Eastern Creek, the ‘Drive to Survive’ course begins in the classroom, with an introduction to the course, along with an essential safety and OH&S briefing. Following this, students take their newfound knowledge onto the dragway with hands-on practice of skills, such as emergency braking. Every new activity begins with a teacher demonstration, followed by students getting behind the wheel of their own cars, and experiencing different activities and road conditions (including wet weather conditions) on the road.

The Ian Luff Academy has a team of highly trained and highly experienced professionals, who are on hand to give advice and instant feedback to every student. The program is relevant to a wide range of vehicles — large, small, sports car, commercial vehicles or 4WD.
