The foodie scene in Goulburn has sure come a long way! And leading the pack is Valerie’s Sunroom Cafe, located within the Gehl Garden Centre. Inspired by a trip to the UK, owner Sally wanted to create a garden cafe, much like the ones she encountered in England, and that’s exactly what she has manifested in Valerie’s Sunroom Cafe.
The cafe itself is beautifully housed within an old greenhouse, and surrounded by plants, of all colours and varieties, and stunning fountains and water features that can be purchased through the garden centre. The menu at Valerie’s is largely plant-based, with many of the herbs and vegetables used in the dishes, grown onsite or in Sally’s private garden nearby. You can also enjoy great coffee here, and a colourful selection of delicious iced teas. Once you’ve finished your meal, you can wander through the delightful garden centre and take home some treasures to enhance your own garden.

old-fashioned service, found only in the country. And that’s exactly what you’ll find at the
Tattersalls Hotel. One of Goulburn’s oldest pubs, The Tatts as it is affectionately called, has recently undergone a major renovation. While maintaining its original charm, The Tattersalls now boasts a stunning new courtyard beer garden, where diners can enjoy outdoor dining, as well as live music which is a regular feature, every Sunday afternoon and evening. The menu here is American-inspired with dishes including their signature country fried chicken wings and sides including mac n cheese balls, and apple cider slaw. You can also choose from a range of fantastic burgers, as well as your usual pub fare. The Tatts is the place to settle in for a long lunch, fantastic food, and great live music!
