At most hotels, you check in for a stay….but at Hijinx Hotel, you check in to play! This unique place, which has the facade of a quirky New York- style hotel but not actual beds, is an immersive space, featuring a series of ‘challenge’ rooms, located behind faux hotel room doors.
Upon arrival at the concierge, punters choose a series of five rooms, each with a different game to play. Teams of two to six players then have thirty minutes to work their way through a set of rooms, and earn as many points as possible. Highlight rooms include ‘Adore-a- Ball’, where players submerge themselves in a swimming pool full of coloured balls, while they attempt to find the gold balls and hit a target. There’s the ‘Draw Me Like One of Your French Girls’ where the room is modelled on the Titanic ship, and players have to find and plug the leaks (buttons) to save the ship from sinking, and a room with a giant floor piano, inspired by the Tom Hanks Film Big.
There are three bars on-site, where you can enjoy a pre or post-game drink or cocktail, and a restaurant space where you can enjoy a range of fun dishes, from burgers and pizzas, through to corn ribs! At this hotel, its ‘hijinx’ all the way!
