Zambi Wildlife Foundation

In Western Sydney, in Wallacia, lies a very special animal refuge that’s a must-visit for animal lovers. Zambi Wildlife Foundation is a unique animal sanctuary, providing world-class care for retired, rescued, surrendered, orphaned and injured animals, including big cats, baboons, and a whole menagerie of other creatures.

Run by passionate and indefatigable conservationist and director, Donna Wilson, Zambi Wildlife Foundation is not-for-profit, and is largely kept functioning by a dedicated team of volunteers. Unlike a zoo, the retreat is open to the public by appointment only, and was built with the animals front of mind. Visitors can join small group tours, and engage in a range of exciting and thrilling animal encounters, with all the profits going towards the animals’ care and upkeep. Encounters include Hand Feeding lions, tigers and baboons. There’s also the Marmoset and Meerkat Encounters, for those that prefer more tame experiences.

A visit to Zambi Wildlife Foundation is not only an unforgettable experience, it also helps give these incredible animals a happy life and the retirement they deserve.
