Want to know how to get the kids off the screens, off the couch, out of the house and into the garden? Do it with food and fun!
The Vintage Secret Garden in Galston is full of country charm, beautiful plants and fabulous food. And it’s full of places for kids to come and play. They can even take part in a kids cooking class, learning to make everything from scones to pizzas in the restaurant’s bakery.
The kids are also going to love the menu, from the kids sized pastas to the spectacular loaded waffles. And then there’s the signature dishes for the grownups – a souvlaki rack with fresh tzatziki, Linguine De La Mer with prawns and calamari, and the chicken and avocado stack. And while the kids run free, do take the time for a dazzling high tea.
Not far away in Glenhaven is Frankie’s Food Factory, which has duck feeding, an indoor playground and an incredible menu for kids.
There’s the famous Pancake Sliders filled with fresh fruit and Nutella, the fluffy Hot Cake and the French Toast smothered in fruit and dripping with syrup. Adults can hook into a huge rack of ribs, or a sizzling skewer set.
Keep the kids happy – head to the Hills.
