Mudgee Magic

How nice to be able to get in the car and hit the road! There are so many places we haven’t been able to visit and one of those is Mudgee.

Food is always a drawcard and there’s not shortage of superb restaurants, cafes and local food shops to visit. Or, why not go straight to a producer?

Just out of town is Aril Estate, with almost 2000 olive trees and 3500 pomegranate trees on the property. You can buy a range of table olives, olive oil and pomegranate products direct from the farm

Another local producer is Baker Williams Distillery, where they produce an impressive range of spirits right on the premises. Try the fantastically-flavoured gins, or the house-special butterscotch schnapps.

And if you like to eat and stay in the one place, you can’t go past Blue Wren Farm. Stay at the sprawling Farmhouse, or pitch into one of the five brand new glamping tents.

And of course eat at the spectacular new restaurant the Bran, where the menu changes daily and features masses of the freshest local produced dropped in by loving locals.

So hit the road and head to Mudgee. There’s a lot to catch up on!
