Rugby league champion Aaron ‘Woodsy’ Woods has built an impressive media career, from being part of the radio team on Triple M Breakfast with Beau Ryan, Cat & Woodsy, to joining the commentary team for the Rugby League World Cup 2026. But what does he get up to on his Sydney Weekend?
Aaron and family – wife Sarah and kids Buster, Coco and Mack, like nothing better than hanging out at their local park, and what a park it is. Oatley Park has 112 acres of bushland right on the Georges River and a sprawling adventure playground for the kids. There’s even the old steamroller for kids to climb on.
It also got the Castle, a 100-year old stone fort build by the Council as a lookout. Now that is a great place for a family picnic.
The family also spend quite a bit of time at his thriving local fitness spot Hurstville Aquatic Centre. There are multiple pools, a massive gym space, and a pumping fitness class schedule – Sarah actually teaches boxing classes there.
Once they’re hungry, Woodsy and his family hit Castello Pizza and Pasta restaurant in Peakhurst run by old friend, Joe Giustiniano. Joe had a restaurant in Leichhardt when Aaron played for the Tigers.
Beautiful traditional pastas, wonderful seafood entrees and classic woodfired pizza, Castello is a real favourite with locals and visitors alike.
So what does Aaron Woods get up to on the weekend? A bit of play, a bit of fitness and a bit of Italian food – and a lot of family time!
