North Sydney Delights

Sydney’s coastline is one of the best in the world, and for a menu featuring some of the world’s best seafood, North Sydney is where it’s at! The north side of town is having a restaurant revival, and leading the charge is Rafi. The proud and deserved recipient of a coveted Chef’s Hat, Rafi is modern Australian dining at its best. The menu is laden with sustainably sourced seafood, where possible, and has many delicious plant-based dishes too. Diners can watch a team of chefs, headed up by Canadian-born superstar and ‘head of culinary’ Patrick Friesen. Go- to dishes include Rafi’s Raw Platter for two, featuring scallops, kingfish and tuna. For meat lovers, the 800gram Angus Ribeye is out of this world, served with a side of fermented chilli and horseradish. Rafi offers diners inside dining, as well as inside a glass atrium. There’s also outside courtyard tables too, making the restaurant more than appealing, all year round.

Just across the road from Rafi lyes Glorietta where you’ll find an equally glorious setting and dishes. The menu is divided into two options- ‘from the pizza oven’ and ‘from the kitchen’. Glorietta’s pizzas are Roman-style, where the dough is proved over several days, to create a super light crust. There are a range of classic pizzas available, and modern takes like the Fungi, topped with mushrooms, thyme, gruyere, broccolini and chilli oil. The menu has many exciting dishes, with many designed to share, as well as pastas good enough to rival those you’d find in Italy! And if you love a negroni, Glorietta has over four to choose from!

With the opening of Rafi and Glorietta, there’s now even more reason to cross the bridge, to the north side!
