You don’t need to be an experienced diver, they’ll teach you everything you need to know on the day. Then, you’ll be diving in a tank with 13 species of shark, from the massive grey nurse sharks, right done to the tiny epaulette sharks.

The grey nurses might look scary, but their teeth aren’t for biting. Instead they’re used to fork small prey directly into their mouths. You can get really close to the grey nurses sharks, but don’t touch.

While you’re at SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium, make sure you see everything else on show. One thing you can’t miss is Pig, one of the only dugong’s in captivity. He eats a constant supply of cos lettuce, which is sunk to the bottom of the tank in frames so it resembles the sea grass he’d eat in the wild.

Also, make sure you check out the Marine Nursery, where hundreds of White’s seahorses are being hatched. Once they are fully-grown, many will be returned to Sydney Harbour to replenish stocks in the wild.

But make no mistake, the highlight will be the Shark Dive Xtreme. Once you’ve done that, you’ll want to spend all your me in the tank and not the tunnel!
