Spice It Up!

Sydney’s original Asian food hub, Chinatown is where you’ll find food from across the continent…and bringing plenty of spice to the mix, is one of mainland China’s most popular restaurant chains- Spicy Joint!

Located on Chinatown’s famous Dixon Street, Spicy Joint serves up the wildly popular Sichuan cuisine, from south-western China, in a stylish restaurant setting, featuring plenty of timber finishes. One of the most popular dishes at the restaurant is the shiu zu yu (which translates as ‘water-boiled fish’). Expect a giant bowl of basa fish, perfectly poached in a fragrant concoction of chillies, peppercorns and oil. Other popular dishes include their delicious popcorn chicken, and of course their mouth-numbing Sichuan- style hot pots.

Sydney- siders can’t get enough of their spice, and bringing spicy food- into the 21st century is Spice World ! The very first restaurant, in Sydney, to introduce robot waiters, Spice World is another hugely popular export restaurant chain from China. As well as robots, there are arcade games, to play while you wait for your table, and a sauce and spice station that covers all palettes and levels of spice! Robots aside, the main drawcard here are the Hot Pots. Once you’ve selected your sauces, from the station, you get to choose two varieties of soup styles, as well as a selection of high- grade meats and vegetables. Make sure you order the wagyu, which comes draped over a Barbie doll, in a tribute to the famous meat dress, worn by Lady Gaga at the 2010 MTV Awards. This fun and fabulous restaurant is perfect for sharing a meal with loved ones.
