Looking for something different to do in the Snowy Mountains in winter? Why not hit the water!
And you can do that literally by taking a cold plunge in the icy Thredbo River with instructor Leah Scott. Leah has built a business taking people for the ultimate ice bath.
It all starts with breathing, with Leah taking you through a series of guided exercises designed to calm and relax you, as well as oxygenating the blood to give you more energy. The results are amazing, you’ll be able to stay in the water much longer than you could have imagined.
If you prefer to be on top of the water, why not try fly fishing. Traditionally a summer sport in the rivers and streams in the Snowys, in winter you can try your luck in the lake.
Fly fishing is different to conventional fishing because there’s no sinker or bait. You have a tiny, light fly, designed to look like a local insect and you use the rod and line to flick it into the water. Once you get the hang of it, you’ll be reeling in the trout in no time.
