The Sydney International Boat Show is on again, with everything for anyone who wants to get out on the water all in one place. As usual, the International Convention Centre is packed to the gunwales with boats and boating accessories, while out in the marina, the big boats are ready for you to come aboard.

Make sure you check out the brand new Australian-made and designed luxury cruiser, the Maritimo X50. It’s the second in the X series of cruisers, has been designed by Tom Barry Cotter and features the revolutionary Beach Club in the aft. Some of the bigger vessels–like the Riva 86 Domino and the Lagoon 630–will show you the magic that can happen when you mix boating life with the high life.
The Event Deck is again the place to visit for people who want to get hands on with some of the smaller craft. The pool area has been given a facelift and features a figure-eight course, complete with navigation markers and an inflatable lighthouse. Here you can test some of the latest Hobie offerings, like the affordable Passport kayak, the Compass or two-seater Compass Duo adventure kayak, or the Eclipse stand-up paddle board.
For a dose of history, head to the National Maritime Museum stand, where you can build a boat from paper, check out the latest virtual reality history experience and get a close look at some of the boats that started Australia’s waterskiing craze.
Next, check out the latest Malibu and Nautique ski and wake boats to see just how far they’ve come. Here’s a hint: technology has a lot to do with it.
It’s all on at Darling Harbour from Thursday August 1st until Monday August 5th, 2019.
