Bawley Point is one of the jewels in the NSW south coast crown. Known for its picturesque and bountiful beaches, now there’s even more reason to visit this sleepy seaside village. Entrepreneur and horse lover, Terry Snow, has built one of the biggest equestrian parks in the southern hemisphere- Willinga Park. Set across two thousand acres, Willinga Park plans to host a series of horse- related, and other, events in their many purpose-built arenas and across their vast grounds.
For those keen to stay during events, there are stunning two and four bedroom, architecturally- designed pavilions on-site, which blend seamlessly with the surrounding gardens and bushland. There’s also outdoor entertaining areas, a series of BBQ’s, and even a heated pool for visitors to enjoy. If you prefer to be cooked for, there’s a restaurant that also opens during events, headed up by acclaimed local chef, Matt Upson.
As well as the many arenas, stables, and yards, Willinga Park is also home to a stunning botanic garden, boasting thousands of plants, shrubs and trees, with many endemic to the region. Garden enthusiasts, and those keen to explore the property are welcome to visit during events such as the annual Sculpture for Clyde- a sculpture event, with thousands of dollars in prize money, supporting local and emerging artists.
Willinga Park offers an experience like no other in the whole country. And with so many beautiful beaches right on its doorstep too, it brings together a unique taste of the coast, and rural Australia.
