The Northern Territory is an ancient place- and the best way to see it is through the eyes of its original custodians!
Fifty kilometres west of Alice Springs, in the MacDonnell Ranges, you’ll find Standley Chasm or Angkerle Atwatye. A geographical marvel in the heart of the red centre, Standley Chasm also holds deep cultural significance for the local Arrernte Aboriginal people.
Alice Springs is fringed by pristine waterholes, and none more spectacular than Ellery Creek Big Hole. An outback beach, Ellery Creek Big Hole is a great spot for a day trip, and for a cooling dip. Just down the road, you’ll find another inviting body of water at Ormiston Gorge– carved out after thousands of years of flooding, and perfect for swimming too.
Alice Springs is surrounded by some wild country and some very special places, including Rainbow Valley. Sandrifter Safaris offer small-group, 4WD tours to Rainbow Valley where you’ll watch as the sunset creates an incredible light-play across the sandstone cliffs and bluffs. With drinks and snacks provided, this is a magical way to enjoy the ultimate NT sunset.
