Christmas Magic at the QVB

The best Christmas shopping is city Christmas shopping, and the most festive place in the city would have to be the Queen Victoria Building.

This heritage treasure has been making Christmas special since the beginning, and the centrepiece of their Christmas celebrations is the massive 20 metre tree at the heart of the complex. This year, the tree is based on a Wollombi pine, with decorations of flannel flowers and quandong seeds embellished by the Boomali Aboriginal Art Co-operative.

The QVB Christmas has 17,000 lights that put on co-ordinated displays throughout the day and you can get guided tours of the tree from the top on level two to the base on the ground floor. That’s where you’ll find an incredible immersive artscape by artist Brownyn Bancroft.

Another Christmas tradition at the QVB is high tea with Santa in the Tea Room. Enjoy one of the finest high teas in the city and spend some quality time with the man of the moment himself. Have a long chat with Santa, and make sure you get a photo or two.

Christmas at the QVB is a truly magical experience. Make a visit one of your Christmas traditions.
