Irish cuisine isn’t known for its spice, but there’s one Irish chef who just can’t get enough of the heat! Celebrity chef, Colin Fassnidge, is the star of Seven’s new hit television show- Kitchen Nightmares. But there’s one kitchen in Sydney that Colin only has only praise for, and that’s Spice I Am in Surry Hills. For close to two decades, owner Sujet Saenkham has been cooking up authentic Thai food which remains true to the spicy flavours of the motherland! This hole-in-the-wall, and much loved, Thai eatery serves classic Thai fare, with stand-out dishes including one of the best Green Papaya Salads in Sydney. Other highlights include the Khanom Jeen Namya which is fermented rice noodles with fish curry, and the Pad Prik Khing Crispy Pork Belly!
Colin Fassnidge is the king of the ‘nose-to- tail’ food movement…and to taste his special brand of comfort food, just follow your nose to The Castlereagh by Fassnidge. Colin’s latest restaurant offering is like a cool club, where you can enjoy a selection of comfort food which is the equivalent of a big, foodie hug! Colin serves up a killer homemade sausage roll, a tasty chicken schnitzel served with slaw, and even a nod to the Italians with a delicious porchetta. Make sure you leave room for Colin’s ice-cream sandwich, inspired by the famous dessert as a youth!
