Dry July is here and thousands of people across Australia are giving up the booze to raise funds to help people currently undergoing cancer treatment. But just because you’re not drinking doesn’t mean you can’t have a good time.
There are restaurants all over NSW that have created new menus and alcohol-free cocktails to help Dry July participants celebrate in style.
In the Blue Mountains, Bar NSW at The Lookout, Echo Point has put on a range of spectacular cocktails that really shine, all designed to complement the fantastic food. There’s the Lyre’s sour that pairs perfectly with the barramundi with sauce vierge, the spritz that’s an awesome match for the pappardelle with lamb and green peas and the strawberry cocktail that adds a real zing to the chicken burger with pickled zucchini and apple slaw.
Down the mountain at Springwood is Arrana which uses native flavours both in the modern Australian menu and a specially crafted non-alcoholic cocktail range. Try the spanner crab with smoked lemon myrtle yoghurt paired with a margherita, the brined lamb belly, eggplant and river mint with a River mint Julep, and the Douglas Fir ice cream with Illawarra plum paired with a Macadamia Bee’s Kiss.
Enjoy dinner and drinks in the mountains for Dry July, and you won’t need to worry about driving home!
