Following on from Sydney’s popular Inner West Ale Trail, the Inner West Distillery Trail has recently launched, featuring nine independent, world-class and award- winning distillers.
Start your self-guided tour at Red Mill Rum, in Rozelle, where owner David has revived the family rum business, first launched in Sydney back in 1933. Sample the range of rums on- site, from classic and spiced varieties to the popular coconut rum.
Just around the corner, you’ll find Blackwattle Distilling Co, where brothers Paul and Mark distil vodka and gin, with their dry gin recently awarded best in Australia and New Zealand, at the 2025 Australian Gin Awards. Visitors can enjoy a G&T or two, and can even bring their furry friends along as they’re a dog- friendly establishment.
Down the road in Lilyfield, you’ll find another family owned and run business at Otter Craft Distilling, home to a range of whisky, gin and vodka. Out back is the distillery and in the front you’ll find a very cool speakeasy in Bar 26. As well as their full range of their house-made spirits, visitors can also enjoy a tasty menu with hand-made pizzas, charcuterie boards and more!
