People have been blowing glass for thousands of years, and if you’re keen to give this ancient art a go, head straight to the inner west studio of acclaimed glass artist Mark Eliott.
Contemporary glass artist Mark runs a series of workshops, in his Marrickville studio. Glass Blowing for beginners introduces participants to glass art, including the basics of glass blowing using an oxygen- propane torch. Techniques include sculpting, stretching, blowing, encasement and colour blending.
There’s also Glass Jewellery making classes, where you can even create pendants and glass beads. Participants will not only learn new skills, they also get to take home their very own handmade, bespoke glass pieces.
