Australia’s beaches are some of the best in the world so it’s no wonder why people flock to our sparkly shores. But when it comes to the water, safety is paramount and now technology is helping our Surf Lifesavers keep us safe this season at the beach and in the water.
UAVs or drones as they’re commonly known, are now being utilised by Surf Life Saving Australia to help with their day-to-day operations. From identifying hazards such as rip currents to sharks and other sea life, through to general surveillance and aiding with rescue operations -drone pilots are watching from above.
And thanks to Isuzu UTE Australia, Surf Life Saving Australia have their surf rescue patrol fleet kitted out, with the dependable and durable D-Max Ute and MUX-SUV. With plenty of space for passengers, rescue equipment and now UAVs, the surf rescue patrol cars can get surf lifesavers up and down the beach safely and with essential equipment. Recently a group of hard working SLSA volunteers hit the road in their trusty Isuzu’s and headed north to NSW flood-affected regions and assisted in the massive clean up and to provide search and rescue and safety services.
