The Prairiewood Leisure Centre, in Sydney’s western suburbs, has a lot to offer- from their state-of-the-art gym facilities, and exercise classes, to the indoor, heated pool and sauna, to an outdoor pool. But what this leisure center has, that really elevates it to legendary status, is its very own waterpark!
Aquatopia is a water lover’s dream. There are extensive slides, from ten metre ones, to the newly built twenty metre ones, so there’s a slide for every age and level of bravery. For little kids, there’s paddling pools, and the Adventure Aqua Tower- featuring an astonishing seventy-nine water features and elements!
For those that like to try something new, why not have a crack at The Fishpipe. Participants enter a clear plastic zorb ball, filled with ankle-deep water, and just like a hamster, they have to try and stay upright in a spinning wheel. The ocean may be far from the western suburbs, but that doesn’t mean you can’t go surfing. The Stingray Surf Rider (the only ride of its kind in the country) allows people to have a crack at surfing actual waves, in continuous, controlled conditions.
Aquatopia is an imitative of the Fairfield Council and has been deliberately designed, and implanted, to be a very affordable, family day out, and there are even discounts for locals. Wherever you live in Sydney, a trip to Aquatopia is an experience not to be missed!
