My Sydney Weekender with Alyce Parker

Two time All Australian, four time best and fairest winner at the GWS Giants, Alyce Parker is a star of the AFLW competition. And with the season on our doorstep, we met up with Alyce to see how she spends her Sydney Weekend.

First stop is the GWS Headquarters at Sydney Olympic Park. The complex includes facilities for all Giants sportspeople – whether they are AFLW, AFL or netball players – to train and mingle. And as you’d expect the gym is next-level.

Then, it’s on to one of Alyce’s favourite places to eat – Abattoir Blues, just a short walk away. Here she loads up for big training and game days with dishes like the Chilli Scramble, Salmon Hash or the absolutely decadent mac and cheese croissant with shaved truffle.

Next, she likes to work that off with a bike ride in Bicentennial Park. Hit up Bike Hire @ Sydney Olympic Park for all the gear, and take a tour of the beautiful byways of this fantastic parkland where you can spot some of the vibrant art installations throughout the park.

And all athletes need a bit of recovery before they relax, so Alyce likes to head to Combine Air Training at Concord for a warming sauna and a chilling ice bath.

Alyce really knows to spend a weekend. Our only trouble was trying to keep up with her!
