Palette to Plate | Art Gallery of NSW & MOD. Dining

Anytime is a good time to visit the Art Gallery of NSW, but when the biggest art prizes in the country are on show, it’s something you really can’t miss.

You can see exhibitions of all three prizes – the Archibald prize for portraiture, the Sulman Prize for genre works and the Wynne Prize for landscapes – all for the one entry fee. The variety in the exhibition is astonishing and Archibald winner Julie Fragar, Sulman winner Gene A’Hern and Wynne winner Judy Rea have created truly excellent works in a strong field.

Also on show is High Colour, ad exhibition of First Nations works from Australia and overseas that are part of the Gallery collection. The exhibition explores how colour is connected to body, to ritual, to country and to identity.

At lunchtime, drop into MOD. Dining, where Asian flavours and a myriad of textures combine in some sensational dishes. Try the Thai fish cakes or the crispy caramelized eggplant for starters, and the claypot broken rice or the banana-leaf baked barramundi with fried chickpeas.

Art is for everyone, and so is lunch at MOD Dining.

WIN! A $300 voucher to MOD. Dining for you and 3 friends!
