Mel is on a long weekend in Alice Springs in the Northern Territory – which is closer and easier to get to than you think! Here she checks out Parrtjima – a Festival in Light which will illuminate Alice Springs from April 5 – 14, 2019. She meets well-known Australian artist – Patricia Ansell Dodds – and experiences the workshops, talks, live performances, art installations and light shows on offer across the festival at the two precincts (Todd Mall & the Desert Park). Mel also chats with locals enjoying the festival and gets an insight into the connection to country told through light and art. The Art and Artists of Parrtjima focuses on the Parrtjima Creative Program and will leave you wanting to visit Alice Springs, the beating heart of Australia.
