One of the south coast’s top spots, for local seafood, is Pelican Rocks cafe in Greenwell Point. Winner of Best Fish and Chips, in Australia, in 2019 & 2022, Pelican Rocks does a wide range of seafood, both fried and grilled. For seafood- lovers, or a special occasion with loved ones, the seafood tower is loaded with fresh local fish, local oysters done several ways, prawns and the star of the tower- local lobster! Just like its namesake, there are plenty of pelicans just out front of Pelican Rocks, and feeding is a highlight of any visit!
Another family- owned south-coast business, Jim Wild’s Oysters, is an iconic location, selling fresh oysters, grown on-site- just up river. Patrons can enjoy Sydney rock and Pacific oysters- done several ways- as they sit by the water at the outdoor cafe. Following in her father Jim Wild’s footsteps, owner Sally is a world champion oyster shucker and can provide demonstrations to visitors
