One of Sydney’s oldest pubs has a whole new look! Fortune of War in the Rocks has had a total renovation and the heritage charm of the front bar has been completely preserved.
A big part of the renovation joins Fortune of War to the Russell Boutique Hotel with a brand-new eating space – Bistro 1828. The bistro is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with drinks to match.
Executive chef Mark Williamson has crafted a menu to suit both the café crowd and the pub crowd. For brekky try a breakfast burger with egg, bacon and a crispy hash brown, or fluffy ricotta pancakes with berry compote. Both go perfectly with a Bloody Mary from the bar.
The lunch and dinner menu has all the pub greatest hits such as schnitzels and parmis as well as a great selection of steaks and some spectacular salads.
The Russell Boutique Hotel has also been totally redone, with each room featuring its own individual look and its own piece of antique furniture. And there’s a sensational rooftop garden to relax and enjoy a drink.
