Australia has some of the oldest– and rarest wildlife in the world, and now they have a brand-new home, at Taronga Zoo Sydney!
Nura Diya Australia is Taronga Zoo’s newest immersive attraction and means ‘This Country’ in Sydney First Language. Featuring four distinct habitats, Nura Diya Australia comprises Nocturnal Country (nguwing nura), Kangaroo Country (bura nura), Dingo Country (wurugal nura) and Koala Country (gulamany nura). There’s also a fifth habitat with the Blue Mountains Bush Walk.
Visitors can walk amongst the kangaroos and wallabies, spot koalas from an wooden, elevated boardwalk, and meet Australian nocturnal animals, including Tilly the delightful rescued platypus! Of all the experiences at Nura Diya, the most interactive is the chance to get up-close-and-personal with resident dingos- Warada and Kep Kep- with a meet-and-greet. You’ll get to engage with these apex predators, and learn all about their characteristics and behaviour.
Me- Gal is Taronga Zoo Sydney’s elegant, harbourside restaurant, with incredible views- out over Sydney Harbour. Expect a modern Australian menu, with many native and seasonal ingredients to compliment the beautiful, bushland setting.
