We all know Thailand is famous for its sensational street food, but what you might not know is that some of the best Thai street food can be found right here in Sydney!

We all know Thailand is famous for its sensational street food, but what you might not know is that some of the best Thai street food can be found right here in Sydney!

Nestled in the heart of the CBD, Long Chim is all about providing an authentic Thai dining experience for its customers. This weekend Teigan drops in to discover why this exciting eatery, with its rich aromas and electric Bangkok market-vibe, has been hailed as one of the best Thai restaurants in NSW. Join Teigan as she talks to owner Jacques Dejardin about Long Chim’s dedication to serving Sydney-siders Thai food as eaten by Thais in Thailand. Jacques also explains the meaning of “Long Chim” which means “come and try”, a common phrase heard around Bangkok food markets which captures the hospitable spirit of Thailand.

Executive Head Chef, Andrea Grandville then sits down with Teigan as she tries four of Long Chim’s spectacular dishes, starting with Chargrilled Pork Jowl with a Nam Jim Relish, and a Grilled Barramundi Salad with a Green Mango and Herb Dressing. For mains, Andrea unveils the perfect Prawn Pad Thai, and Teigan finishes off with a sensational Sour Orange Curry of Ling Fish with Choy Sum, Tamarind and Tomato.

We’ve all heard of Chinatown, but in Sydney’s Thai Town, you’ll find the sweetest restaurant of all! Mango Coco is a bright, colourful, and super cheery cafe- much like Thailand the country itself!

Best friends from Bangkok, Penny and On have teamed up to bring Sydney the best of Thai desserts. Eggs on Nest are charcoal mochi balls- made from sweet potato- and filled with a salted, egg yolk sauce. If you’re keen to share, the Creamy Mango Binghsu is a show-stopper- served with fresh mango, mango pearls, homemade mango sauce and cream- and topped with dry ice!

There’s also a savoury menu on offer too, with all your Thai faves, including some with a twist like the hugely popular Tom Yum Prawn Spaghetti.
