If your kids only know farm animals from their pictures in storybooks, you need to introduce them to the real thing at The Giving Farm, at Jilliby on the Central Coast.
The small family-owned property offers the chance for several hands-on farm experiences such as petting and feeding the animals, picking fresh seasonal produce and much more.
Owner Missy says the name The Giving Farm was named because of their desire to give back to the land and not just take from it, and that features in both their certified organic farming methods, returning nutrients to the soil, but also in the way they look after their animals, including may who are rescues.
The most popular activity is the Farm Animal Cuddle, Pat and Feed Experience where you can bottle feed lambs and kids, provide hay to the Highland and Guernsey cows and you can even pet and cuddle a chicken.
Depending on the season, the Pick Your Own experience could be blueberries, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers or even flowers.
Whether you come to pat or to pick, The Giving Farm just keeps giving.
