The Grounds has certainly made it’s mark on the Sydney coffee and café scene, from the OG site in Alexandria, to their charming CBD spot, and now the third location – The Grounds Coffee Factory in South Eveleigh.
This incredible heritage space in the Locomotive Workshops has been transformed into a stylish art deco café with the industrial overlay of a working coffee factory.
You can take a tour through the factory to see how the coffee process works for the roasting, to the sorting, to the blending. You can take a course on Latte Art, or if you really want a deep dive into your morning brew, you can do a Cupping experience. I’s like a wine appreciation class, but with coffee, and we can guarantee you’ll be suitably amazed by what you taste.
But make plenty of time to sit back and enjoy the coffee as well as the food. For a sweet start to the day try the toasted banana bread with salted espresso marscapone, or the fluffy hotcakes with poached pear and rhubarb. Or for something savoury there’s the sausage and egg muffin or the hot smoked salmon royale.
And of course, there’s all manner of The Grounds signature coffee drinks.
