Not all kids have a garden, but every kid can explore the most beautiful garden in Sydney! Founded in the early 1800’s, the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney is Australia’s oldest scientific institution, with over 28 000 plants, from an astonishing seventy- five countries!
One of the garden’s permanent exhibition spaces is The Calyx. Home to one of the largest green walls in the Southern Hemisphere, The Calyx is an immersive green space, in the heart of the garden. Amongst the incredible collection of rainforest and indoor plants, you’ll find delightful sculptures, made from recycled and reclaimed items.
For budding young ‘green thumbs’, the Royal Botanic Garden runs a series of workshops, getting kids out into the gardens, and hands- on with potting their very own plants. From carnivorous plants to ghostly garden tours, there’s plenty of school holiday fun to get the kids outdoors and into the garden.
From one of the biggest green walls in the southern hemisphere, to some wonderful workshops for kids, you’ll find it all at the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney!
