The North Shore doesn’t get a lot of love as a foodie destination, but Gordon is bucking the trend, with a whole raft of fantastic spots lining up to tempt your taste buds.
For breakfast and lunch drop into The Wyatt, a vibing local café on the east side of the station. Here you can dip into classics that have been styled the Wyatt way. Try the eggs benedict, but with pan-tossed potatoes taking the place of the English muffin. Or the scrambled egg served with a buttery croissant, and a generous serve of shaved truffles. Truffles are also a part of the udon with creamy black garlic sauce, and if you like a bit of sweet with your savoury, try the chicken waffles dripping with Canadian maple syrup.
Over the tracks is Bar Infinita, a new addition serving a delicious and inventive menu of classic Italian flavours. The pizza bianca is the only pizza you’ll find on the menu despite the pizza oven in the kitchen, but dishes like the chestnut pasta with beef cheek and black olives and the grilled Wagyu steak with sweet potato puree and brussels sprouts are just divine.
And you must finish with the signature dessert, the Amalfi Coast lemon mousse. Or go traditional with Nonna’s Tiramisu. Either way, it’ll be a delicious end to a memorable meal.
