This weekend Darren goes behind the scenes of Verdi’s enduring favourite, Aida, for the start of Opera Australia‘s fantastic 2023 winter season.

Join Darren as he chats to Revival Director, Shaun Rennie and Production Coordinator, Dominic Jones about this staggering production that combines live performance, Verdi’s monumental music, and the dazzling technology behind the ten towering digital screens designed to immerse the audience in a thrilling theatrical experience.

Darren also visits the Wardrobe Department for a chat to Hamish Peters and Jessica Grantham about the incredible hand-made costumes worn by the chorus, dancers and principal cast of this mammoth production – even gets to try on one of the lavish outfits!

Lastly, Darren talks to the show’s leading lady and masterful soprano, Natalie Aroyan about the complexities of her character, Aida, as well as her favourite moments of this enduring opera classic.

With its stunning design, opulent costumes, incredible music and singing, Aida is a jaw-dropping theatrical experience that’s not to be missed!
