Run through ‘Activate’- at the Lake Crackenback Resort and Spa- river sledding takes participants down the Thredbo River, and through a series of fun rapids, on hardy Lillo’s. If you enjoy fishing, this area is also fantastic country for trout fishing. And why not book into stay at Moonbah Hut, featuring two stunning huts for rent. One of the huts is situated on a dam, chock full of brown and rainbow trout, where you can ‘catch and release’ at your leisure.
The Snowy Mountains is also a growing foodie hub, with many producers to discover. Shut the Gate cellar door, in Berrima, specialise is cool climate wines- notable their Chardonnay and Pinot Gris. Swing into the cellar door to sample their wines, and enjoy a range of scrumptious cheese platters. Just down the road, in Jindabyne, is the Paddock Perfect roadside stall. The stall features a range of organic produce- all grown or reared from animals on site. There’s fresh garlic, herbs, and chills, as well as eggs, condiments and raw honey.
