If you live near the Georges River in Sydney’s South, Carss Bush Park might just be your local. For the rest of us, there’s many great reasons to visit and enjoy a fun day out.
Carss Bush Park really does have it all, from the historic Carss Cottage on the point, to the beautifully appointed baths in the bay. There are around 20 hectares of park to explore, including bush trails and foreshore walks.
In fact, the foreshore is a major focus with an extensive redevelopment transforming the river’s edge into a thriving and diverse ecosystem. There’s a boardwalk to protect the fragile saltmarsh from trampling feet, and a series of rockpools constructed to mimic the natural environment and protect the many plants and animals that live there.
But if you’re feeling more in the mood to play, you can come for a picnic, have a dip while you’re at it and then a grab a coffee from the café.

Carss Bush Park really is a gem in Georges River.
