Coos & Comfort | Kangaroo Valley

A weekend trip away in the country is always a good idea, and in the South Coast hinterland there’s so many wonderful places to explore.

You can get creative at Abergail Farm at Cambewarra, home to geese, sheep, goats and a herd of Highland Coos. Owner Tegan runs a whole suite of creative experiences with the coos including Coos and Colour – a painting experience for adults and kids, clay sculpting, cake decorating and bouquet making.

But our favourite is Coos and Cupcakes where you get to meet and feed the coos, then decorate cupcakes with their cute coo faces. Make the horns from fondant, pipe on the icing, add the eyes, nose and ears and pipe on some shaggy hair to finish. Then you can get photos in the paddock with the cupcake and the coos themselves.

If you’re more of a town person than a farm person, and love a bit of comfort, Kangaroo Valley is just over the mountain, where you can stay in luxury at Wildes Boutique Hotel. The rooms are spacious and beautifully appointed, and Wildes Restaurant on site serves up delicious dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Choose coos, choose comfort or choose both. Whatever you decide, you will love this trip south.
