Disney’s THE LION KING is the most successful stage musical of all time, and now it’s back in Sydney for a strictly limited run, feeling the love every night at the Capitol Theatre.
The show is an absolute triumph of stagecraft, from the full-sized animal props, the exquisite costumes and the intricate and incredible puppets.
But it’s the wonderful performances from an incredibly talented cast that really make the show. From Simba and Nala, played by Aphiwe Nyezi and Emily Nkomo, Timon and Pumbaa, played by Jamie McGregor and Rutene Spooner, to the ill-fated Mufasa and brother Scar, played by Nick Afoa and Daniel Fredriksen.
There’s also Buyi Zama as Rafiki, Benn Welford as Zazu and the hyenas – Winston Hillyer (Banzai), Ezra Williams (Shenzi) and Mat Verevis (Ed).
