Luck be a lady tonight! Guys and Dolls is returning to Sydney for the first time in 10 years in a brand-new production, and this time it’s the biggest show in town on the enormous Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour stage.
One of the most awarded Broadway comedy musicals ever written, Guys & Dolls transports you to flashy Manhattan in the 1950s: a larger-than-life world of showgirls and gangsters; full of catchy songs, exceptional dance routines and gags galore. It follows gambler Nathan Detroit who is trying to raise $1,000 to put on his famous crap game, while trying to meet the needs of his showgirl girlfriend Adelaide. He bets high roller Skye Masterson that he can take missionary Sarah Brown for the weekend to Havana.
The show also has mega star power, with Cody Simpson in his Australian musical theatre debut taking the role of Skye Masterson, Annie Aitken as Sarah Brown, Bobby Fox as Nathan Detroit and Angelina Thomson as Miss Adelaide. Providing comic relief in this very funny comedy is Jason Arrow as Nicely Nicely Johnson and Joel Granger as Benny Southstreet.
