Mobile Fun

For a suburb that is only seven kilometres squared, Burwood has over twenty parks, making it one of the greener suburbs in Sydney’s inner west.

If you’ve got little kids, chances are you spend a lot of time in the park, and putting even more‘fun’ into park- life is the Mobile Playvan. Run by Burwood Council, the Mobile Playvan has been rocking up to Burwood’s many parks for over fifteen years, bringing structured games, activities, dress-ups, arts and crafts, and plenty of joy. Mobile Playvan is aimed at kids aged zero to six, but every kid is welcome, including big kids and kids at heart.

Park picnics are lovely but if you’re after the picnic experience, without all the hard work, The Picnic Burwood is the spot. Located in Burwood Park, the cafe has no walls, bringing the outside in. And with flowers hanging from the rafters, it’s the perfect picnic vibe. Stand-out dishes include the Lotus French Toast, topped with seasonal fresh fruit and edible flowers and the pretty Poke Bowl, overflowing with grilled salmon and savoury goodness. There’s also the Leb Breakfast, featuring perfectly poached eggs with middle-eastern spiced hollandaise and pickles.
