When times get tough for people, times get tough for pets too. But luckily there are places like Monika’s Rescue ready to help.
For 30 years Monika Biernacki has been rescuing dogs and cats from council pounds around NSW, and her current no-kill shelter at Ingleside has over 100 dogs and cats living on site. Her aim is to find each of them a forever home and match them with the right potential owner.
The staff on the ground are ably supported by a fleet of volunteers who turn up to help with the many jobs that need doing around the place – feeding, cleaning up, washing bedding, and the most popular job of all dog walking. Volunteers are given a bag with water, treats and poo bags and you can take a dog out in the nearby bushland for some exercise.
Cat lovers can come and spend time with here too and help out however they can.
Monika’s Rescue really is a wonderful success story. Donate, volunteer or better yet adopt. You’ll be making an animal very happy – and they’ll bring joy into your life too!
