My Sydney Weekender with Larry Emdur

He’s the Australian television personality we all know and love, with a resume that has seen him host numerous shows, such as The Morning Show and The Chase Australia, he’s Larry Emdur!

When he’s not entertaining us on-screen, he loves to head home to the Hawkesbury River and one of his favourite eateries is Peats Bite. Larry is a Hawkesbury local who loves nothing more than lunch on the river.

Damaged by fire in 2021, the iconic Peat Bite restaurant on the Hawkesbury River has been totally rebuilt and is back in business, serving a classic long lunch for a very special occasion.

Start with the grazing selection, an amuse bouche of mushroom pate and cured egg yolk, then dive into the roasted shishito peppers and white bean puree, served with citrus marinated olives and beautiful bread.

Seafood stars on the menu with Empire Bay oysters, blue swimmer crab custard and pan-fried snapper, followed by the mains to share – wagyu steak, massive grilled king prawns with roast potato and brussels sprouts on the side.

Once you get through that, there’s still dessert and cheese to go.

It really is something everyone should experience – a delectable long lunch, full river frontage and the sun setting over the beautiful Hawkesbury.
